Phil, JP, & I took the train to see K on Sunday.
Because soooo much was going on downtown, by the time we had made 2 or 3 stops the train was FULL! However, at all the other stops, they somehow put on more people. Most traveled in groups and had the silly idea that they'd get seats for 5 or 6 together!! My advice... get on where the train STARTS! :)When we arrive, our tour guide (K), heads us to the bus stop and takes us to her room. Finally her floor is not so lonely since it is now occupied by 16 girls that are 17 & 18 years old and taking classes in the SAIC summer program. See her bags on their doors? So cute!!
(Her RA gig is going well and she loves her girls. Once she finishes Chemistry of Foods class this week, life will be more doable!)
Lunch was nearby at Miller's Pub and you saw that picture on the previous post.
Part of the reason for the crowded train & streets was that Taste of Chicago is this week. We walked by... not stopping, not getting smashed in that kind of crowd. ugh!
The park across the street had plenty of open benches so we sat.
And took pictures!

Then it rained so we scooted over to the next bench that had more tree covering it! We got a few sprinkles but it was tolerable. At least to me....
Later we headed back to K's over the Millennium Park bridge.
Here is a view from the bridge (can you believe I stood in the middle of a bridge above a multi-lane road?) down Columbus Avenue where a lot of the Taste of Chicago was set up. K's friends said it is shoulder-to-shoulder. Ugh!
We had about an hour of visiting/resting in K's room and then did the reverse trip home: bus, train, car. We actually then added in the long way home once we were in the car since we needed a few items at Shopko while we were out. Long, happy day!
