New Room

By evening the kitchen was all unpacked and we had places to sit....

I'm in the middle of the kitchen here, just inside the door.

From kitchen, either up the ladder to the loft or in the bathroom. Her bathroom here is huge! I counted tiles... 5 1/2' by 7' and then the tub & shower.

Phil got the TV hooked up so rested with a movie.

K had just bought this tapestry to decorate one wall. Cover that drab white! This is her living area. The doorway you see is the kitchen area.

We are glad she has space to breathe here and a view to the south with sunshine streaming in the windows! She is going to set up her work & sewing area behind the couch & TV area. She had gotten such nice moving boxes, some will be turned into tables in the corners with fabric draped over them.

By Monday evening she had the closet all organized and was getting to other boxes. (Besides 2 classes, another training meeting, getting supplies for Tuesday {Sculptured Headwear}, making lunch & supper.)

That looks more like a whole apartment than a dorm room!

That looks like a great room! (but a lot of work to get there!) Does she get the room all to herself? Does she sleep in the loft? I think it is so cool that she gets to have this awesome experience of living and going to school in the big city. What a great adventure!

This is a great adventure for her. She is so happy there! (A tad nervous/anxious about the RA job but I think she'll be fine as she settles in.)

She gets the room to herself (yeah!) and sleeps in the loft w/ a double bed mattress. This is the first time I have gone up in the loft. She had one in her summer room and what was to be her fall room. The other lofts had a straight ladder and she noticed right away the slant of this one. Good thing! Then the loft floor is carpeted and was clean and looked new. With the mattress in the far corner she then has about 1' on the long side and about 3' along the short side. It is nice b/c she has a nightstand type of thing at the head of her bed that way.

Dawn,

Yes like a mini apartment. The school doesn't have food service that is why they have kitchens there. A full size frig & freezer, sink, 2 burner stove, and microwave are there. On the top floor is a room with about 6 reg size ovens & stove tops and sinks. This building has a bigger kitchen than her other building and it has plenty of sitting area and a TV.

Looks like K is all set for the new year. Neat apt. Hope she likes the RA duties. Ashley did that last year but to many problems so is living in an apartment off campus this year with a friend.

K has really made a name for herself. Great dress in the Fons and Porters.
